Winter break on the Forststeig!

Winter break! The trekking route Forststeig Elbsandstein as well as all overnight accommodations in the forest and the campsite in Ostrov are closed. The new season starts on April 1st, 2023.

Dear trekking friends, the trekking route Forststeig Elbsandstein will be closed from November 1st and will go into winter break! All overnight accommodations in the forest (trekking huts and bivouac places) as well as the campsite in Ostrov are closed. Camping on the bivouac sites is not permitted outside of the Forststeig season. The winter break protects nature (because sensitive natural areas and wild birds are not disturbed) and protects hikers due to site and weather conditions. During the winter break (November - March) we will remove all mobile markers in order to repair and maintain them, we will use the forest huts for forestry and hunting operations and repair and improve the overnight accommodations. On March 25th, we want to work with you togehter on the Forststeig trekking route before the start of the season. You are welcome to reserve the date. Further information will follow here. The new Forststeig season begins on April 1, 2023.
